I don't think a moose could just randomly lose his antlers, but if he did I just think it would suck for him and maybe hurt, but I don't really think it would do anything to him besides losing his capability to win in fights with other moose.
Loosing antlers for moose is natural especially after the rutting season ends, which is in early winter. Bulls won't loose their antlers until late winter (February-March).
