This could mean that either the battery is installed incorrectly or it is the wrong size battery.
Check to make sure that the correct terminals are on the same ends of the m\battery as the original. Different cars have terminals on different sides depending on which side of the car the battery is located. There are also different size batteries having one that is too tall or too wide can make fit a problem.
When purchasing a battery (typical set up at any of the Mart stores) There is a catalog of sorts wghere you can look up your car make, model, year, and engine type / size. this will give you the part number of the correctly configured battery.
Another reason is maybe you put it in the car backwards (hey even the best of us can make a mistake).
If none of the above is a possibility then maybe the cable is under the battery check your installation methods to ensure that nothing is being trapped or pinched.
The RED Cable goes to the + post on the battery. The BLACK Cable goes to the - post on the battery. Turn you battery which ever direction it takes to make the cables reach the correct posts.
The battery is inside abattery box hold by rubber band, the battery box has to be slide out to reach the positive terminal.
Things You'll NeedCar battery chargero 1 Check that the electrical items in your BMW 328i are turned off and the key is not in the ignition. Open the hood and secure it.o 2 Place your battery charger near the BMW 328i's battery. You need the charger cables to easily reach the car's battery.o 3 Attach the spring clamp on the end of the red cable attached to the battery charger onto the positive terminal of the BMW 328i's battery. The positive terminal is labeled "+" or "Pos."o 4 Attach the spring clamp on the end of the black cable attached to the battery charger onto the negative terminal of the BMW 328i's battery. The negative terminal is labeled "-" or "Neg."o 5 Select the charge setting on your battery charger. If you need to boost your BMW 328i's battery quickly, select the highest charge rate. If you want to charge it slowly -- overnight, for example -- select the lowest charge setting. This setting is often labeled "trickle charge."o 6 Turn on the battery charger. Make sure it is charging at the rate you want. Leave it for several hours, or overnight if on a trickle charge.o 7 Turn off the charger. Remove the black negative cable attached to the charger off the battery's negative terminal. Remove the red positive cable off the battery's positive terminal.o 8 Move the charger away from the BMW 328i. Close the hood.
It's usually not long enough to reach, so no.
The starter solenoid is close to the battery of your car. Follow the red battery cable to reach the solenoid. Use your car's manual for any help.
Connect the positive battery terminal directly to the starter. You'll need a new, longer cable to reach it.
Grounding a Vehicle BatteryUsually, manufacturers attach the ground cable from the battery to the engine block. I don't change that unless some other factor makes using the manufacturer's ground location impossible, and then I route the ground cable to a manifold bolt within reach of the cable.
If the car has a 10 or 12" spare wheel then you can fit a Group 34 battery in the standard battery box. you might need a 34F which has the posts reversed if your positive battery cable won't reach the battery post. www.HeritageGarage.com
In a vehicle place the battery so you will be able to connect the positive and negative cable up correctly. If you install it wrong the cables usually will not reach the correct connection.
Its the air resistance that causes the free falling body to reach its terminal velocity
first you need to disconnect the negative cable (black) you need to use a 10mm or 12mm wrench to loosen the nut at the cable post, move away the cable so it does not touch the battery. Next do the same for the positive side (red), move away the cable so it does not touch the battery. in front of the battery on the bottom is a bolt, use either a 12mm, 13mm, or 14mm (which ever fits) socket with a extention to reach the bolt and remove it, remove the metal bracket the bolt was screwed to and the battery can now be removed ***when installing the new battery REMEMBER to reconnect the positive (red) cable first then negative (black) cable as this will prevent a voltage spike from happening
