Some cats are very finicky with food, and will sometimes turn their noses up at food they have had before and, at the time, seemed to have liked. Just like humans, even a non-fussy cat will get bored of the same food day after day for the rest of its life.
Try giving the cat a different flavour, or mixing another food in with the old. Sometimes the new flavours and a different type of food will get the cat eating again, as its something to look forward to. Other methods to try is to add some plain chicken broth to the food (for dry food, never leave soaked kibble down for more than ten minutes as bacteria within the kibble will grow at an alarming rate), warming the food up a little, or mix some other tasty food such as a small amount of oily fish or chicken. Reduce these once the cat is eating again.
Rotating a few brands every few weeks is ideal as this limits the chance of the cat getting bored with the food.
Sometimes when cats are ill, or if they have something wrong with their mouth, they will not eat. Ill, hurting, or very fussy cats can refuse to eat for days at a time, which is a grave danger as this can lead to Feline Hepatic Lipidosis (Fatty Liver Disease), in which the cat's body will start to send fat cells to the liver for fuel, which given enough time untreated, the liver will fail.
It is highly advisable to take the cat to the vet if the cat refuses to eat for more than several days, less than that if the cat is overweight. In the meantime, try with smelly foods such as pilchards and other fish to get the cat to eat something until the cat gets some professional treatment.
Well, it is sorry to say is that odds are that that kitten will pass away. A way you could prevent it is take it to your local animal hospital and give the kitty a checkup on his or her lungs, they my give you a prescription for you kitten or give it a nebulizer. A nebulizer is what people, cats, and dogs use to help them breath, and open up their lungs, you may need to go to your animal hospital right away before it's too late!
You REALLY need to take the kitten to a veterinarian. That could be serious.
Maybe they don't want it or there not ready to eat it.
Something could be seriously wrong with the kitten. Take it to a vet immediately! Sick kittens, especially if very young, can go downhill very very quickly and need to be treated as soon as possible.
Please take it to the vet immediately. The kitten needs urgent help.
actually if your kitten does not go to it it means that either it does not know where it is or it does not have a very useful brain.
Take it to the vet soon, it may have Parvo. and or switch the food
Why would you eat a kitten any way? Are you a nutso person kittens are cute and cuddley and that would be evil to eat a kitten.
yes a large peacock will eat a small kitten or animal.
Take them to a vet immediately.
They do not eat kittens.
you can feed it small cat food from the store ,some brands like paws is very cheap but it probably wont eat it
My money is on the kitten. The Kitten would eat the smurf, so the kitten wins.
I'm not a kitten expert, but, having multiple answers is If your kitten only just adopted their starvation-like habits, he/she might have a cold! Kittens tend to not eat when they're a little under the weather. Perhaps, though, you should take your kitten to the vet to see if there are any more serious (or easily fixed!) health problems involved. Good luck with your kitten!
