Connect positive cable to positive post on battery and negative cable to any metal body part or engine part.
If this is one of the cars with the battery under the rear seat, there should still be jump start posts under the hood. Look for a red plastic cover marked with a plus sign.
if you put jumper cables on the wrong way you WILL kill the battery then if you leave them on you will cause the battery to overheat and swell then will u least expect it, it will blow up.. it will be a miniature hydrogen bomb
On the starter or IF you have (2) positive battery cables, in between them.

The next step would be to check the starter selenoid and then the starter.
Look at it. If the wire is corroded and/or the insulation is bulging, replace the cable.
Mine is under the rear seat just unbolt it and remove the cables

I was going crazy looking under the hood for the battery in my aurora. But checked the manual and it is actually under the back seat. Long cables go all the way back there. The back seat should easily pop up with a good tug.
The battery in 95-98 Aurora are located under the back seat cushion. To access you must lift the cushion by pushing in on the bottom rim from inside towards the trunk and lift up at the same time. To remove battery cables you need a 5/16 socket, and to remove the battery retainer use a 1/2 socket.

you have to have the battery held up by someone or somthing to attach the cables, then when you get them tight, lift the batt up until the bottom clears the tray and then slide it back
You can purchase battery cables online for a low price. A good place to find these is at discount marine supplies. They carry battery cables and are discounted, too.
Before you try to charge it with a batter charger. take the battery to an autozone or similar to test the batter and see if its still hold a charge. or if you know that the battery is good then jump start it using another car battery with jumper cables. just remember RED to + and Black To -
