i do believe Britain requires you to surrender your American passport upon getting a british one, i.e. becoming a citizen of Britain -- no dual citizenship was allowed. at least that was the case a few years ago. so you are still American.
You need to get a visa, and go through the process of becoming a legal U.S. citizen. The marriage is not legally binding if one partner is an illegal alien. Go to the U.S. government site and see what it takes to become a citizen when marrying a U.S. citizen.
A Nigerian citizen, or any citizen for the matter, can travel any place (for the most part) as long as they have the proper paperwork and a way of getting there.
