Answer Cat can't lick off medYour cat can't lick off the medicine if you place it in the correct spot which is between his shoulder blades. Maybe you should talk to your vet also.

Another great spot is right at the base of the cat's skull. This is where my vet told me to apply it. If you have multiple cats, keep them separated for a few hours until the product is dry to keep them from grooming it off of each other. Though, the product has a very bitter taste so the cat may not want to lick that spot very much :)

Im frustrated here! People can have more than one cat, thus allowing A cat to lick the frontline of another cat even if it is placed correctly!!! Heads out of butts Please!!

People who say cats can't lick medicine off the shoulder blade area must have never watched a cat lick itself. They will lick their paw and wipe any area they cannot reach with their tongue. Then they lick the paw again, which has the Frontline on it, and repeat. Otherwise, cats would have dirty heads, and they don't. So, about the Frontline-----since every cat is going to lick it off, cats would be dying in the hundreds of thousands if this was a problem. Frontline is not systemically active. It collects in the oil glands and kills fleas and ticks, not cats. If a cat licks a whole lot quickly, the bad taste may cause increased salivation. You also see this drooling when pilling a cat with a bitter-tasting antibiotic. This does not mean the cat has been poisoned. Give it something to drink and it will be fine. I suppose there is the rare case of a cat having an allergic response to it. I once had a cat that scratched for a whole month after using Frontline, and I had to substitute Advantage. But other than that, don't worry about it, and don't use another pipette because you think the cat has licked it all off. I assure you that enough got into the cat's skin to work for a month.

Provided the cat does not lick it off immeadiately after application, the Frontline should still work. It should also not be toxic to the cat if ingested.

Frontline is not stored on the surface of the fur, but in the glands under the skin. This means licking the skin (or washing) should not remove all of the Frontline.

Can you apply Frontline to your cat who has a cold?

Best wait until it recovers from the cold because Frontline is a chemical and some cats have a bad reaction to it, even when they are healthy. A cold means the cat's immune system is overloaded fighting off germs in the cat's body.

Can three licks of chocolate pudding kill your cat?

Three licks would not kill your cat if they are small licks, if it ate too much then it may die yes, if it did eat alot then you should take it to a vet. Otherwise I do not think that three licks would kill your cat no.

Can you put Frontline for cats and Frontline for dogs together on your dog?

I would not recommend it. I do know you should never put the canine Frontline on a cat. You should use the canine Frontline for the dog according to his weight and the same for a cat, use feline Frontline only. Why mix them?

What weight does your cat have to be to use frontline?

Once your cat is 8 weeks old, you can begin using Frontline Plus. There is no weight requirement.

Can your cat take frontline and prednisone?

Yes.

Used Frontline for dogs by mistake on a cat can it be lethal?

It depends how much you gave your cat. If you gave your cat more than 1.00ml then you could be overdosing your cat and you should contact a vet. Cats are only supposed to have 0.50ml Dog Frontline is the SAME thing as Cat Frontline, just the dosages are different. The only danger is overdose.

What happens if a dog eats Frontline?

Frontline has been tested for toxicity - and a dose much higher than the usual application (over 20 times), even if ingested, is needed before signs of toxicity are detected. You may notice some salivation because of the taste. Therefore there should not be any problems if your dog licks some of the Frontline off. Also, since Frontline is not stored on the surface of the skin, it would only be possible for the dog to lick it off immediately after application. If you notice your dog looks unwell and you are concerned - call or visit you vet.

Can use cat frontline on your dog?

If you have multiple cats, you should treat them all with Frontline Plus application at the same time. You may want to keep the separate right after the application to cut the risk of them licking the medication off each other.
