A slipping clutch.
turn screw or thumb nut in or out until there is only a small amount of play in clutch lever when siting in rest position. pull handle it should move just a little befoe cable moves if this doesn't work you my have to take out the play at the lower adjustment at lower clutch lever. there should always be a little play this tells you your clutch is fully ingaged when handle is released
Clutch free play needs adjusting. On a vw clutch you muct be sure the system is bled, if it has been successfully bled then you must adjust the shift linkages.
You will wear your clutch prematurely. With no play, it means that there is lack of pressure on the clutch plate thus allowing it to slip; slippage causes wear.
Sounds like you need a new clutch. Or at the very least the clutch pedal free play needs adjustment.
If it has a clutch fan there may be a little play in the clutch assembly which would be normal. If the fan is bolted directly to the water pump any play should be minimal if any at all. Once again the year, make and model info would be helpful.
I don't think he was in the movie, he was in the play... but I could be wrong.
SOMETHINGS WRONG WITH YOUR TRANSMISSIONAnswerif your lucky and it is a auto the shift linkage can fall auto wack with the little p r n d d 1 indicator just play with the shifter see if you can get any results if not check your tranny fluid and then call the machanic AnswerIf you have an manual, YOU NEED TO REPLACE YOUR CLUTCH! Your clutch is worn and no longer clamp down on the driveshaft. or it may be your transmission. Pray it's your clutch. Or laugh at yourself if your not in gear. Could be a number of things. All of the above could be right, Plus if it is a front wheel drive car, You could have had a CV joint go bad in which case you would not be able to go anywhere.it could be as simple as low fluid in the transmission
clutch pedal free play decreases
NO FREE PLAY AT TOP POSITION - CLUTCH SLIPS AND VEHICLE DOES NOT MOVE TOO MUCH FREE PLAY AT BOTTOM - VEHICLE WON'T SHIFT CLUTCH DOES NOT RELEASE
