Your clutch is worn and no longer clamp down on the driveshaft. or it may be your transmission. Pray it's your clutch. Or laugh at yourself if your not in gear.Could be a number of things. All of the above could be right, Plus if it is a front wheel drive car, You could have had a CV joint go bad in which case you would not be able to go anywhere.
it could be as simple as low fluid in the transmission
