You can get married WITHOUT a driver's license. But you'd probably need a marriage license.

You cannot obtain a marriage license unless he is legal. It would be best to focus on him obtaining citizenship so you can get married.

A marriage license is required to have a valid marriage and is usually the first step in getting married is for the couple to apply for a license at the clerk/recorder for their county. This can be done live or online. Then the couple must appear at the clerk's office to pick up the license, or if the couple had applied in person, the license can be sent by mail. If the license has expired before getting married then you need to get a new one.

You will have to get your marriage license from the country where you both got married. But if you are staying in another country after migrating , you will have to only register your marriage in that country.

By Personal experience... I got married to my Husband who was illegal here with an EXPIRED passport of his country and we still got the marriage License. All you really need is a form of id and the passport. You should be fine.hope that helped! Because even with an expired passport, we got a marriage license, but he had his id. :)

You need a license from the jurisdiction that is performing the marriage. You do not need a state license in addition to that.

Yes, as along as you have an address in the state it expired from

User Avatar

It is not good in another country. The license must be issued by the country where the ceremony is.

Your county courthouse will provide you with a marriage license, or the details necessary for you to obtain one. Some states require a blood test. Some states may require that you provide proof of residency. Nevada has some of the loosest requirements. I don't recall that my fiancee had to be present when I bought my marriage license there.

User Avatar

The mere fact that the license is expired does not constitute a crime. If you are fishing (an act) with an expired license, there is potential for a jail sentence, depending on where this occurs.

User Avatar

You are already married, you can't apply for a license. The US will recognize a valid marriage in another country.

can you go to jail for driving with an expired license in georgia

Return to the county clerk and get a new one. They may give some credit for the expired one, but that depends on the jurisdiction.

No. The Nevada marriage license is not valid in California. By the way, getting a marriage license does not mean you're married. Can you rent a car without an expired license? The question implies that you do not have an expired license. Does that mean you do have a valid license? If so, then yes. There should be no problem. Can you rent a car with an expired license? No. The car rental company might not check your expiration date, but I doubt it. Additionally, some companies will make a copy of the license you used to rent the car.

There is what so ever no consequences for driving on an expired license as long as you remain in the state your license is under.

The owner of the car must pay for the license plates fines. It is illegal to drive with expired license plates.

No. Obtaining a marriage license doesn't mean you're married. You must take your marriage license with you and arrange to have the ceremony performed by some person permitted in your state to perform marriages (city clerk, justice of the peace, priest, minister, judge, etc.). That person must sign the marriage license and return it to the town clerk where it was issued. If your marriage license expired before you used it to get married then you need to start all over again and apply for a new one.

Legally, an expired driver's license is no longer a valid form of ID. However, most bouncers at clubs are looking at the date of birth and the picture to see if it is you. There is a chance the bouncer will not notice the license is expired.
