What if your hood latch cable broke and you cant pop your hood on a 2003 jeep?

I have a '93 Jeep Cherokee. I had the same issue with my hood release handle breaking from the cable.
I was able to release the hood without cutting holes or taking the front lights out.
You have to simply unscrew the release handle from its mounts(3 screws on the inside of the Jeep).
Remember the handle was attached to a long sheath that is covering the actual cable. Most likely the actual cable is still attached to the hood release.
Once the handle assembly is released, pull on the black sheath only, (NOT the actual metal cable) using a pair of pliers. It will take some force as you have to pull the entire sheath all the way out.
What will be left is the metal cable. pull on the cable using the same pliers and there you have it....A HOOD THAT IS OPEN! AWESOME!

If the door feels like it is "hitting" on something, it is probably either worn hinge pings or the latch located on the body of the car (and not the door itself) is out of adjustment. If it closes but doesn't latch, it is either a faulty handle, latch, or latch rod/cable. All of these parts should be available at your local auto parts store.

im not sure i understand your question. but it the door latch assembly will not work correctly with the door handles then either the cables are bad or the latch is bad, it depends very much on your situation, if a cable is bad then $200 bucks perhaps, if the latch assembly is bad then $800 dollars perhaps, since you didnt leave a lot of info on what is happening with the latch i cant help you that much. good luck.

No you cant replace just the motor. ITs fairly cheap and much easier to replace as one unit. It comes with the motor, cable, and guide rails.
