The domelight is located on the driver side just above the hand strap if you have one. If you don't have a hand strap, the location of the dome light is just above the driver side door between the top rear of door and the driver side backseat window.
check to see if your dome light is working. if not check the dome light fuse, located in the engine room fuse box. dome fuse powers the trunk release circ.
The crank and tool are located in the dome light cluster by the rear view mirror. You will see a little panel that you have to pop off with a screw driver.

check the drivers door jam area you should see a little tab sticking out it pushes in and out when opening and closing the door that triggers the light
See the 7.5 fuse in location 15 on the fuse box
It is on the left side of the dashboard,you can only see it when the door is open
under the dash on the drivers side you will have to remove the plastic cover to see them
Start with a new bulb and check the fuses. Some of the GMs have a button next to the headlight switch that cancels out the dome light if so desired, check to see if that switch is on or off.
