It was a huge impact-many died to express their patriotism and the war was the reason that the United States has a self-governing indepedent country with representation of their own. It gave them freedom from the British that one-third of the populatiopn desired at the time. It gave them their cositution and their own government. It affects the attitudes and culture that the American people live in today.
