"Big" Steve Long who was a particularly violent lawman, killing eight men in gunfights within two months. Long was lynched after confessing to his fiancee that he had killed a prospector in a botched robbery attempt.
Ellen Liddy Watson "Cattle Kate" was accused of cattle rustling and lynched.
Then there are the deaths which made news:
Matthew Shepard who was beaten, tortured and left to die near Laramie, Wyoming on the night of October 6, 1998, and died six days later.
