In The Arctic Incident, Artemis lives in Ireland (as he does throughout the series), most of the book (or the main point of the book, rescuing Artemis' father Artemis Fowl I) took place in Russia, because that is where his father went missing (in the Bay of Kola) while on a ship full of cola he was hoping to sell/trade in Russia and extend the Fowl business empire to Russia. The book also takes place underground, in the fairy city of Haven.
