You have to have at least a DSL or Cable high speed internet. You can have the lowest speed (1.5Mbs) but if there is anyone else in your house playing Internet games or streaming movies then you may have some lag. If you have the lower end high speed you will only be able to have 3 to 4 people on your server. If you are on a LAN (ie., everyone is playing IN your house) then there is no problem.
