7 Years, although...

This is a major generalisation, although it is based on the average life span of a human and the average life span of a dog. If you divide one into the other you end up with an approximate figure of 7 years (7 human years for 1 dog year).

If you do the maths you could probably work out the average for cats, parrots and ducks (etc.) as well.

This can vary between Dog Breeds as it can vary between of different ethnic backgrounds.

Just as with humans is also depends on the health of the individual dog.

well it used to be 7, but now the vets go by weight and size of dog, so... under 20 lbs. it's 7 yrs..but say 50 lb. 9 yr's. your local vet has the chart or you might find it by " googling ".
