Canada, a western federal democracy consisting of ten provinces and three territories, is a constitutional monarchy with a parliamentary form of government at both the national and provincial/territorial levels of government.
Canada follows the Westminster system as it was a British Colony. Unlike the United States of America Canada has more than two political parties (NDP, Liberals, Progressive Conservatives, Green Party, and the Bloc Quebecois) where the USA has only liberals and conservatives (Democrats and Republicans). Canada also has a division of powers between the federal government and the provinces in which the federal government can not encroach on unless it is under POGG (Peace order and good governance) or when pertaining to crown land and resources.
The United States is a federal, constitutional, democratic, presidential republic.
