CAM is a computer based software and is mainly seen as CAD/CAM. CAD is a software that designs the product, where as CAM is used to actually make the product that is on the CAD. to find out more, go onto wikipedia and type in Computer Aided Manufacturing.
In an immunological setting, CAM probably refers to 'Cell Adhesion Molecules' These are proteins expressed on a cell's surface in order to allow certain cells to selectively bind to certain tissue sites. For example, cytokine stimulation (due to, say, an infection) could cause endothelium to express ICAM 1, an adhesion molecule. Once this is done, any Leukocytes in the blood stream that express LFA-1 (the molecule ICAM-1 binds to) will be able to bind the endothelium and extravasate, allowing the leukocyte to enter the site of infection. The CAM's usually belong to four families- the integrins, the selectins, the Cadherins and the Ig superfamily. They have an enormous amount of applications- I believe Desmosomes use Cadherins to keep cells together- but I'm afraid I can't help you outside of their immunological functions. If you need more info on their roles, see Cell Adhesion Molecules in Plants and Animals (Seymour G., 2004).

One example is a Laser Cutter Machine.

C4 and CAM are types of photosynthesis that differ from the standard C3 type. In C4 and CAM, the stomata, or air pores, in the leaves only open at night to minimize moisture loss from evaporation. This mechanism is common in very hot or dry climates.

That number differs by manufacturer. Refer to your owners manual for instructions about scheduled maintenance.
The belt that you refer to is a self adjusting steel belt that is inside the engine. It does not need replacement.
What does cam stand for in technology is Cam can mean many things such as camera, computer aided manufacturing, camcorder, camouflage, cell adhesion molecule or certified apartment manager. * Added - CAM is used in engineering and manufacturing technologies to refer to Computer Aided Manufacturing, or, Modeling and is often teamed with CAD, for Computer Aided Design. CAD CAM is the typical technology today for developing a new product and takes it from an idea to a product or product component very quickly.
refer to any automotive repair manual such as Chilton',s Motor's, or Haynes for complete step by step instructions.

If your engine has overhead valves then the cam sensor should be located by the valve cover. Be careful, some cam sensors require a special alignment tool to install- refer to service manual (you may find it at library or buy it at auto parts store).
