The Chromebook is a laptop running the Chrome OS operation system. Most applications and data (including files and documents) reside in the cloud. The first Chromebooks were announced at Google's May 2011 I/O conference. Several companies, including Acer, Samsung, Hewlett Packard, and Google itself, manufacture the actual physical laptops themselves.

Random Access Memory stores the functions (applications) on your phone. It is the same as RAM in a PC and allows applications to be stored and run from memory. RAM can be over written, meaning that new applications can be loaded and use the space, once older applications are deleted or closed.

If your paging file is stored on hard drive, it will cause your applications to work slower if for instance it was stored in RAM.
