The Hawaiian Kingdom's national anthem, entitled "Hawai'i Pono'i," was composed by His Majesty King David Kalakaua in 1876 honoring King Kamehameha I. The ruling family was deposed and the islands become a part of the US, and now it is the state song.
"National hymn" means the same as "national anthem". A song that officially identifies a country.
