Best Answer

Sicily is a the largest island in the Mediterranean Sea. It is directly off the southwestern tip of Italy and is Italian owned. Italy is usually referred to as "The Boot" or "The Leg" and Sicily is usually referred to as "The Ball" because if looking at it a map, the shape of Italy is similar to that of a leg and it appears like Italy is about to kick Sicily.
