King Henry the V was best known for his campaigns in Northern France . He won very important battles during the hundred years war . After sieging Paris and 6 months of negotiation the Treaty of Troyes recognised Henry as the heir and regent of France. His reputation was partially stained by the fact that he didn't like keeping prisoners and letting them go for ransom instead he killed them to make sure they don't escape during battles or ambushes. When Henry was 16 while helping his father in a battle near Shrewsbury he was struck by a arrow which became stuck in his face. It was initially removed but the metal head was still stuck inside his face in a way that it didn't cut very important nerves or vessels. In a couple of days the royal physician managed to create a special device that drilled in the hole captured the arrowhead and then withdrew during a time when there was no pain killers. The future king survived the operation and went on to greatly expand England's influence.
Primarily, converting England from Roman Catholic to Protestant (Church of England). Also; promiscuity (he married 6 times), obesity (he lost digits to gout), chivalry (he jousted in tournaments and wrote poetry) and like many middle age kings, bankrupting his nation in the name of international diplomacy, war and self interest.
