I Have a Dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character.
Martin Luther King, Jr.
when king said he had a dream, he meant that even though the times were full of hate for the blacks, he knew that, in the future, people would get along with each other, regardless of their skin color. to boil it down, he was saying he knew that segregation would be abolished.
He explains it in great detail but he basicly explains that his dream is for their to be no racism
MLK was basically saying that he had a dream that one day black and white people would one day live in a society where people judged each other by the personalities and character, not by there skin color.
from the "I Have a Dream" - Address at March on Washington
August 28, 1963. Washington, D.C.
he said "I have a dream that one day on the red hills of Georgia the sons of former slaves and the sons of former slave owners will be able to sit down together at the table of brotherhood. I have a dream that one day even the state of Mississippi,a state sweltering with the heat of oppression, will be transformed into an oasis of freedom and justice."
"I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.
to all African American to be free and out of slavery
he dreams the segregation laws would come to an end and black's and whites will be able to join each-other with judging the color of your skin.
That someday all people regardless of race will have the same rights and privileges in the US.
