Mrs. Lovett being sick was never mentioned from all the versions that I've read and heard. In the Sweeney Todd movie, where Johnny Depp is the lead actor, the only sickness Mrs. Lovett probably have is mental illness. She seems madly in love that she was willing to do anything to keep Sweeney Todd to herself.
