PE is the acronym for Poly Ethylene, a common plastic used in many consumer products and food storage containers. The real question is...is it BPA-free? and what type of PE is used (LDPE - Low Density Poly Ethylene or HDPE - High Density Poly Ethylene) and based on this, what small molecules may leach out when you put hot food on the plate or microwave it.
yes

Plating is used for conductive materials while coating is used for non-conductive materials. My brass horn is silver plated while patio table is plastic coated.
Mild Steel
Plastic is aluminized with the use of vapor deposition. It does not need base coats, much in the manner that glass optical element are coated.
Well, to be precise, its a paper which is coated with polyethylene by extrusion coating process..... It will have a shiny appearance on the coated side but will not have gloss levels comparable to glossy or machine glazed paper.... PE Coated paper tend to curl because dead fold characteristics of this weakens due to poly coating (when compared to raw paper).......... I believe it means polyethylene paper. So I can imagine it's a glossy paper. Perhaps photo-paper?
Paper coated with either PE (polyethylene) or PLA (polyatic acid)
Paper plates have wax to help prevent the paper from soaking up moisture from the food and getting too soggy and limp.
Paper plates should not be used in a microwave unless they are microwave safe. Ordinary paper plates have a very thin coating of wax, which when heated in a microwave will catch fire.
heavy duty paper sometimes they are coated with wax or paraffin to make them somewhat waterproof Other disposable plates - which is what I believe you meant anyway - are made from styrofoam or kinds of plastics.

You cannot really. As part of their production a small amount of water repellent is added but you will really need plastic coated plated.
When some type of coating is applied to base paper it is called coated paper. Coated paper is not called as fine paper. Fine paper is bleached writing and printing paper. Woodfree paper is the paper made without using mechanically pulped fiber. Woodfree does not mean free of wood fibers. Art paper is typically the paper used for high class multicolor printing. All coated papers can be categorized as fine paper, woodfree or art paper but reverse is not true as all fine paper or woodfree paper or art paper are not coated paper.
Coated paper is coated with various materials like clay or polymer to enhance its smoothness, brightness, and ink absorption properties. This coating creates a more polished surface that helps with better color reproduction and sharper image quality when printing.
Paper plates are made of paper. Paper used in making paper plates is made of mainly wood material.
Cast Coated paper is like a shinny mirror light flash. like a mirror feeling
Paper plates are made out of paperboard and are biodegradable. Paper plates can be used to make crafts and for art projects.
