Photoshop Portable is basically just a "ripped" copy of Photoshop CS4, making it completely free. No brush presets, tools, filter galleries, text sets, or anything else were changed in the "ripped" version from the "normal" version. It is still a hot topic over whether it is plagiarized or not, as they did give credit to all the original creators of Photoshop CS4 on the loading screen.

pretty much the only time you will ever see the phrase "Photoshop CS3 Extended" is when you start up photoshop and the little blue box will come up that says its loading all the components. other than that, you will never really see it. so double check. if you are still having problems, go back to adobe.com/downloads and re-download the trial and install it after you have uninstalled the other one. this should make it work and if not, contact adobe help.
