There was no formal schooling for Native American girls back in the 1600s, nor for boys either-- but that doesn't mean that Indian children were ignorant or uneducated. Rather, they were taught what they needed to know in order to function as useful members of their society. As a female, and the daughter of a chief, Pocahontas undoubtedly had more opportunities to learn, since she had a higher status. She would have learned farming (including planting and harvesting, and recognizing which plants were edible), cooking, and important crafts like how to make mats and baskets. Interestingly, in her tribe, women did the hair-cutting, so she would also have been taught barbering skills.
she did not go to school
she didn't necessarily have schooling... more like hunting a weaving baskets suff like that. hoped that helped! :)
