Some Christians believe there was a long gap (perhaps as long as 4.6 billion years) between the first two verses of Genesis. During this time there was a war in heaven, demons were cast down to earth, and nature was corrupted through demonic activity. This interpretation addresses two problems caused by modern science: the age of the earth and the nature of nature. A straightforward reading of Genesis indicates that the earth is only about 6000 years old, not the 4.6 billion that science has found it to be. And disease, suffering, death, predators, and parasites are found throughout the living world, yet all were supposedly created by a kind and loving God. The gap theory allows Mother Nature to be both old and new. see link below

What is Knowledge gap theory?

Knowledge gap theory posits that communication campaigns may inadvertently widen the gap between individuals with high and low levels of prior knowledge on a topic. This theory suggests that those with more knowledge are more likely to benefit from the information presented in the campaign, while individuals with less prior knowledge may struggle to understand or retain the new information.

What is gap theory?

The so-called "Gap Theory" is a conjecture about a possible interval between the first two verses in Genesis 1. Among other things, it attempts to deal with the creation of the angels, the fall of Lucifer, and related topics. According to this theory: (1). God created a fully-functional earth in Verse 1 which had a very wide range of animal and plant life, including fish, mammals and dinosaurs, and others that are known today only from their fossils; (2). Satan's fall occurred sometime in the gap between verse 1 and verse 2 (which is why it's called the Gap theory!) (3). The earth was laid waste as a result of Satan's rebellion; (4). God remade earth into a paradise again in 6 days of re-creation. (5). This then harmonizes The Bible account with the fossil record and science. This theory is not held by many today because of Biblical and theological problems.

What is the Gap theory?

The Gap theory, also known as the ruin reconstruction theory, suggests that there is a gap of time between Genesis 1:1 and 1:2 in the Bible where a catastrophic event occurred, causing destruction and chaos on Earth before the six-day creation account begins. This theory seeks to reconcile the biblical creation account with scientific theories about the age of the Earth.

How Much time if any elapsed between Genesis 1 v1 and Genesis 1 v3?

See: The Gap Theory This theory holds that the gap in time between God's initial creation in Genesis 1:1 and His subsequent re-creation (The Seven Days of Creation) is when Satan rebelled against God. Notice 1:1 says God created the heavens and the earth. 1:2 says" the earth was void and darkness ruled over the face of the deep" showing something chaotic happened. The time frame here could be billions of years, which can account for the old age of the earth and universe. The book "Earth's Earliest Ages" By G.H. Pember details this theory and the time gap between Genesis 1:1 and 1:3 very well.
