Actually they said Tomato Juice was plausible but not the best. The best solution for skunk odor removal was a mixture of Hydrogen peroxide, baking soda, and liquid dish soap. The Annotated Mythbusters website was where I got my answer, episode 16 is the one they did this testing. I have found many mixtures of the Hydrogen peroxide, baking soda, and liquid dish soap but they all are close to this mixture.
1 quart 3% hydrogen peroxide solution, ¼ cup baking soda, and 1 to 3 tablespoons dishwashing liquid.
Unfortunately My dog just got sprayed about an hour ago so that is what led me on this search and this mixture seems to be working on the skunk smelling mucus she left on the garage floor after being sprayed in the mouth. Now I get to bathe her in this solution, yippee.
