Tropical fish flakes tend to have more/different contents because they are designed to feed several different species of fish that require a varied diet. Goldfish food is designed for just one species of fish. Since there are both Goldfish food and Tropical food available it is common sense to feed the fish the correct and appropriate foods. The answer therefore is they can and may eat them but they are not the right food for them so eventually the fish will suffer.
Goldfish food is generally designed to contain less protein, and more plant matter than generic Tropical Fish food. A Goldfish needs more plant matter to help keep its gut and intestine healthy, and to keep from getting constipated. You can also toss in some veg from the pantry into your goldfish tank, from time to time, like plain steamed spinach, blanched zucchini, or shelled peas
Tropical Fish food contains a mixture of high protein and high vegetable flakes to cover a tank with mixed species, and it will cover the needs of most fish tanks just fine. In the short term, however, you can feed cross feed the flakes to cover your need to run to the store and stock up on the right type.
Tropical fish flakes were designed for tropical fish species to eat and goldfish flakes were designed for goldfish. They require different foods and much money has been spent on research and development of the correct diets for various fish species. It is best to feed Goldfish the food that has been designed specially for them and then supplement it with a bit of live food occasionally.
yes tropical and goldfish eat any sort of flakes its just shops trying to rip you off to buy 2 pots of food
Anatomically there is very little difference between them. The main difference that matters for keeping these fish in aquariums is the temperature. Goldfish prefer temperatures in the 65F-70F, whereas tropicals require temperatures between 77F-82F generally. This fact stems from the goldfish being from a temperate region (colder) and tropicals are from the tropics, where it is warmer.
These foods are specifically suited for tropical fish/reef fish such as angelfish, clownfish, seahorse, etc.
Well if you consider that mollies are tropical fish... then tropical fish food (Flakes) are good yes.
Tropical fish flakes
I have tropical fish and i feed them fish food which says on the label 'tropical fish'.But tropical fish that live in the ocean eat either other smaller fish or worms, really anything they can find.
Guppies are omnivores and do OK on normal Tropical fish flakes.
Crushed
Live or frozen mosquito larvae and omnivore fish flakes.
No, you should just feed them tropical fish flakes!
Nothing. I feed mine tropical flakes! P.S. i have a betta named Frodo lol
The pellets yes, the tropical fish flakes, no. Feed it every two or three days.
Well, it depends. If it is a tropical fish it needs tropical flakes. If it is a betta fish it needs betta pellets. If it is a algae eater they need algae chips. If it is a fresh water fish it needs fresh water flakes or pellets or goldfish flakes or pellets. They all like freeze dried blood worms as a special treat! It is good to feed a variety of fish foods! Good luck!
Mosquito fish are not Goldfish. They are tropical livebearers. They may eat the goldfish food but it is not the right food for them and so will not be good for them.
it is a tropical fish and like most tropical fish they all eat tropical fish flakes and to keep it strong and help it grow faster i recommend you get frozen blood worms and a heater also helps and you spelled goby wrong.
