Difference between RAC and WL in railway ticketing?
RAC stands for Reservation against Cancellation. If your ticket has RAC status, you will be allowed to sit initially and will be given berth (to sleep) only if someone cancels their reservation. WL stands for Waiting List. If your ticket holds this status, you will not be given any seat or berth initially and will only be done after all RACs are considered. You cannot even board the sleeper coaches. If you do so, you will be detrained mercilessly.
