∙ 11y agoThe Gordian Knot of history was a complicated Turk's Head, tied with the bark of the Cornel Tree. Over time, the bark shrank and hardened, making it impossible to untie. Many tried, and ALL failed. The legend grew that the person who would solve the riddle would also rise to rule all of Asia. Alexander (soon to be Alexander the Great) cut it with a sword(!)-and went on to rule all of Asia!
