As long as you have 20lbs., or more, at idle, and it goes up with rpms, your fine. 40, to 60, should nbe the max, warm. Any more than that will wash out the bearings.
lt1 is a 350
No it will not. Unless the oil pressure is low on the 350 engine. If you had good oil pressure in the 305, and the 350 don't then there is something wrong with the 350. Bad oil pump, engine bearings worn out, Oil pump pick-up screen stoped up. Things like that cause low oil pressure.
The oil capacity based off of changing the oil filter along with the oil is 4-5 quarts. Add 4 quarts first then run the engine for a few seconds to build oil pressure. shut the engine off and check the oil level on the dipstick. add if necessary
Oil pressure should be 40 to 50 psi
The 1979 Chevrolet 350 cubic inch engine oil pressure should be in the 40 to 45 PSI range. The more miles an engine has the lower the oil pressure will be.
