America is the most powerful country in the world presently. Americans came from the british who very early found out about a land existing far away, a land of opportunity. They began to send ships there and the first colony was Jamestown, followed by twelve other colonies including New Netherland which was later renamed to New York. After various events causing the Americans to unify, such as "The Enlightment" they revolted for independence in 1776 and a few years later won the war against the british whilst being in a worse condition.
