It is basically an upper respiratory infection and could be caused by a multiple of reasons. Your cat will show signs of a URI by a runny nose, watery goo-goo eyes and possible sneezing/ coughing. Sometimes it goes away by itself or you might need to take it to your vet to see whether or not it needs medicine. Kitty colds are contagious to other cats but are not to other species of animals or to humans.
