My car (year 2000 S500) has the car shaking a bit and clicking or clanking sound when idling. Was told it is due to bad catalyst converter (the inside was broken). Are those the symtoms or there are other symtoms? Please advise. Thanks.

Platinum, palladium and rhodium are metals used as catalyst in converters.
Lead coats the catalyst in the converter making it inoperable.
Oxygen sensors are located on before and after the catalyst converter on top of the tipe pipes and after the catalyst converter on the side. It looks like a spark plug.
