Choragos or Choragus is the chorus leader. The individual in question is the character who speaks on behalf of the chorus of Theban elders. So he's the representative of the chorus in terms of the other characters in the play 'Oedipus Rex'.Specifically, Choragos represents the informational responsibility of the chorus. That responsibility involves keeping the audience current of what's happening in the play. The other responsibility of the chorus is one that all chorus members carry it. It's the entertaining responsibility of dancing and singing.
The purpose of a chorus is to help the actors role become more emphasized throughout the play. The chorus has a few actions here and there and sometimes they have a dance at some stages. HI STONE
The chorus comments on the actions of the main characters in the play 'Antigone'. Most of their comments deal with the actions of Theban King Creon. But the chorus also comments on the single-focused passionate fury of Antigone.
Being a Theban elder who has certain skills is what it means to be in the chorus in 'Oedipus Rex'. The chorus is supposed to include the older and the wiser individuals of Thebes. Its members know how to dance and sing. They also know how to comment on what's happening in the play. The two sets of responsibilities are meant to entertain the audience and to keep play goers informed of developments in action and character in the play.
I can't believe someone would write that. I was in a greek play and I was chorus and the chorus were just townsfolk who told the story. The spoke in rhyme.
Bach did not play hallelujah chorus. it was arranged by James Bastien and played by George Frideric Handel.
Sadly you cant.

In ancient Greek drama a chorus is a group of actors who commented on the action of the play in unison. Those plays were written hundreds of years before Julius Caesar lived. There is no chorus in Shakespeare's play Julius Caesar.
No, some artists just change the chorus to a "chorus 2" and sing/play that as the bridge.

Unless I am dead wrong- and have been at times, Raquel Welch was NOT in the broadway show ( a play) A Chorus Line. She was only in one play- Victor-Victoria which ran posters in the Star-Ledger. She is not the type for Chorus Line type shows, to my knowledge.
Interact directly with non-chorus characters is what the chorus leader can do that the other chorus members cannot do in ancient Greek theater.Specifically, the chorus is made up of respected, wise elders. Its members instruct the audience by explaining offstage and past events as well as onstage happenings. They entertain by dancing and singing across the stage. But they cannot interact directly with characters outside the chorus. Only the chorus leader can interact with both chorus and non-chorus members in the play.
