Tallahassee is a mostly suburban town with a huge student population. FSU, FAMU, and TCC bring in thousands of students. It is the state capital, and gets busy during the legislative session. Football is big, but not as big as in Gainesville. Tallahassee is known for its rolling hills and huge live oak trees. It is a left-leaning town in an often right-leaning state. It is home to Florida's oldest high school, Leon, and many other public and private schools.
In my opinion, Tallahassee is a great place to live. There are community-wide events, such as seasonal festivals, Saturday morning markets, and block parties downtown before every football game, but I wish there were more sometimes.
