A butterfly valve is from a family of valves called quarter turn valves. The "butterfly" is a metal disc mounted on a rod. When the valve is closed, the disc is turned so that it completely blocks off the passageway. When the valve is open, the disc is rotated a quarter turn so that it allows unrestricted passage. The position of the disc is effected from outside the valve.

gas butterfly valve is one kind of butterfly valve, the main feature is that all the functions are supported by gas just as the Electric Butterfly Valve which supported by electric.

How does a oven gas valve work?

An oven gas valve controls the flow of gas to the burners. When the oven is turned on, an electric signal from the ignition system opens the valve, allowing gas to flow into the burner. A safety mechanism, such as a thermocouple, ensures that the valve closes if the flame is extinguished, preventing gas leaks. The valve typically features a manual override for maintenance or emergencies.

What is the millivolt range of a gas valve?

The millivolt range of a gas valve is typically around 250 to 750 millivolts. This low voltage is generated by a thermocouple or a thermopile and is used to open and close the gas valve to control the flow of gas.

How do I safely turn off a gas valve?

To safely turn off a gas valve, locate the valve and turn it clockwise until it is fully closed. This will stop the flow of gas and prevent any potential hazards. It is important to only turn off the gas valve if you suspect a gas leak or if instructed to do so by a professional.
