A laptop for gaming will cost you more then $500. Please keep in mind graphics cards range from $150 to $500 and they are the main requirement for gaming on any computer. Dell has some machines in that price range like those listed in the link below.
But you will not get a very good gaming laptop in that price range.

I have had good luck with any of the IBM Lenovo series. They seem to have lots of power at a reasonable price.
