nope it is not good.
I ask because my roommate's dog is a walking yeast infection. he's allergic to everything and is on a permanent regiment of Diflucan. He stinks like vinegar and cheese and is somehow always moist. anywhere he lays gets stinky with his foulness. I feel like I'm constantly breathing in candida...
First, antibiotics do NOT treat yeast! In fact, antibiotics can CAUSE yeast infections! Yeast overgrowth that shows up as ear infections, goopy ears, stinky skin, etc. is caused by too many carbohydrates, grains, fillers in a dog's diet. You can treat the symptoms with medications but unless you make changes to the diet, this will continue to be an issue. It is also caused by use or misuse of antibiotics-- dogs are like children; you should not treat or give meds without a vet telling you to do so. Carbs/grains are converted to sugar in the body and yeast's favorite food is sugar! So, eliminate the carbs, grains, fillers. Add a high quality supplement that contains things to build the immune system (to fight the yeast) and give it time. Your dog can actually get through the yeast overgrowth on his own if given the right tools. See Related Links for a great article that gives more details about candida yeast in dogs.
Yes, despite what it says in whoknewbooks, yeast is not good for a dog. It ferments into alcohol. Most any type of bread, rolls, etc. turn into sugar, so no bread.
There is no such thing as a urinary yeast infection, but your dog can get a urinary tract infection. As for yeast infections, I'm not sure.
no table food , water, exercise, and sleep
i use pedigree for my dog it worked really good
Take your little dog to the vet as they have some good ointments and your dog will have to go on a special diet (not that expensive.) I had a little dog like this and with the ointment and diet it went away fairly quickly. Then the diet did the trick for the rest of the time and she never had another outbreak. I always suggest to some people in case they don't have this extra money that you can find a vet that will gladly "trade off" for the treatment of your pet if you don't have the money. Cages have to be cleaned and dogs walked out in the back if they are staying for a time at the vets. Good vets are more than thrilled to do this for a person, because that person shows true love and care for their pet. Good luck Marcy Go to the Vet!!
yes, but this is certainly not a good diet.
I feed my dog about a cup of Purina in the morning and evening.
No, you should be feeding your dog a good dog food diet, dry food. Make sure it is a good name brand of dog food and not some cheap generic. Cow's milk will cause diarrhea in your dog. A good diet of a good dog food is all that is needed.
