Typically, lenders want to see a borrower in the "same field" for at least 24 months. That does not mean with the same employer. So if you are a restaurant server and you change jobs but still as a server onyl in a another restaurant you are OK. However, some lenders will overlook a complete job change if the credit score is good and/or the loan to value is not to high.
