1) Getting the driver You can get the driver from your driver CD, OR : Go to My Computer, right click and select properties. Then select Hardware tab, select device manager. Click the device with ? icon, which you think is the webcam. Double click it & select details. Some weird IDs are written. Type them in Google[space]driver (type the ID till & ). Eg: PCI\VEN_8086 driver Download driver from any suitable link. 2) Messenger Any friendship site has messenger, which has webcam support nowadays. You can try the best: 1. MSN 2. Yahoo 3. Skype 4. ICQ
I recommend you a simple software which meets you basic needs. Webcam Capture Studio is a webcam recorder software, it simulates a virtual webcam, when you have a Skype chat just do some settings. You can Google it or cope the URL here, and then paste it in your address bar.
Your webcam should have come with it's own software. If it didn't, then follow the instructions that came with it. If you don't have them, then try searching the internet for that specific webcam..
Hardware
I went with EyeSpyFX's webcam software. It's worked really well so far. I'm using WebcamXP webcam software, and it's been great.
The webcam on a Mac is controlled by the software using it. Launch Photobooth, Facetime, iChat, iMovie or any other software that requires the camera and it will be activated.
The effects are provided by the software being used by the webcam. With the right software any webcam will produce special effects
If you have a built in webcam to your computer you will probably have a software in it where you can take pictures and videos. If not I'm pretty sure you can buy a software.
hardware
if the webcam has come with the computer, it turns on by itself when you use a software that requires you to use a webcam. Otherwise, if you want to turn on the webcam (just simply) you have to get a software like CyberLink YouCam or any other software you like.
your webcam should have came with a CD to download your softwear.
this can be for many reasons such as software issues or hardware try reinstalling the software for the webcam such as the drivers also look for updates to software off the manufactures website if all that fails it may be a software issue
Well a computer is a piece of hardware and whatever is installed into is a software and a webcam is installed so it is a software. p.s which idiot did not know that
