Check the coolant in the 96 Taurus. Check to insure that the thermostat is working properly, and that the water pump is working.

Check for any blockage or buildup in the hoses to and from the heater core itself. Also check to make sure the thermostat is working properly. A cooling system flush may also be needed.
Blower motor working? Check coolant level System airbound? Bad thermostat? Control cable not adjusted or working properly? Selector switch not working?
To check if RTD PT100 is working properly you need to check and make sure all the wires are connected. Take several readings and if they are the same, it is working properly.
Check to make sure that the engine coolant is full. The thermostat must be working properly as well as the water pump. The hoses going to the heater core should be warm from the water if the climate control is working on the heat side.
make sure the blend doors are working properly. check the heater core for blockage or debris around it. check thermostat, and have the coolant checked to see if it is still good.

Check fuses and turn signal flasher
check fuse.
The heater core is plugged. The thermostat is stuck closed. Antifreeze/coolant level is low. The water pump is not working properly. Check the cheapest things first. Check fluid levels. See if the fluid is circulating well. If okay, replace thermostat. If still cold replace heater core.
Check fuse if the blower is not working. If it is then replace your heater core. if its not then replace your fan switch.
