How can you get a golden apple for free on Howrse?

The Golden Apple lets you change your horse's coat. Use it to choose a new coat that has been drawn by other Howrse players. Most of them are splendid - go take a look.

The Golden Apple can only be used on horses and ponies that are at least 1 year 6 months old. Special coats cannot be given to foals.

The Golden Apple takes priority over Medusa's Blood. If you give your horse a horse's Golden Apple and then turn it into a Pegasus, it will keep its Golden Apple coat.

Careful, only coats with a icon are compatible with Helios' Ray.

Here are the bonuses this transformation gives:

• Stamina: +5
• Speed: +5
• Dressage: +5
• Gallop: +5
• Trot: +5
• Showjumping: +5

Golden apples cost 1 pass per horse!

There is not a cheat. However, if you have been registered on Howrse for 50 days then you can buy a pass with your reserve. Just go to My Passes, scroll right to the bottom and there you go. Click on it and a pass will be added to your reserve!

You can get a golden apple for free by opening a horn of plenty and hope one is in there, or you can earn 600 stars and you get one for free (in the lottery). However, this option is not always available. Or after 50 days of seniorty, every 30 days you get one free pass. You can also get them from promos.
You can post an advert on your profile and EC pages and in your private forum. Let people know what you are looking for, and if applicable, what you can give in return.

from what i understand i guess you can choose the color of the coat and put marks anywhere on it, like a star on its head? It costs one pass to buy it. but i don't know whether its better than the golden apple or not.

A horse is worth however much a buyer is willing to pay for it. Your best bet is to advertise him in the negotiations forum and on your own profile page. List his attributes (golden apple, other bm's, skill points, gp etc), and be prepared to be flexible.

There is no such thing as a silver apple. There is a golden apple and used to be a diamond apple but there is no silver apple.

Draw one, put it on a transparent background, put it on the Black Pearl frame, and submit it.

Sounds simple right? It's not.

First you need to download a photo editing program, either gimp or photoshop (either is good, but gimp is free).

Download the frame for the background. This can be found on the internet, just search up "howrse black pearl coat frame" or something similar.

Then draw your horse, and color it. Be sure to follow all howrse submitting rules, because if your drawing breaks and rules, you will not get your passes back for buying the black pearl. However, if you follow all rules and do not get your horse accepted into the game, you will get your passes back.

Having tried this before, I know it's not easy. But try your best. If you need help, you can always search it up on the internet. I found deviantart.com useful for drawing tips.
