Is it true that a DVD-ROM is a high capacity optical disc?

Yes. Although there are more high capacity disks out there.

Are Floppy disks considered high capacity disks?

No. Floppy disks have the lowest storage capacity of any mainstream storage device. Hard drives, CDs, DVDs, and Flash drives all hold far more data than a standard floppy disk. Even when they first came out, hard drives and tape reels held more data (though they also cost far more).

Can you record blueray movies with blank DVD disks?

No. A standard DVD disk does not have the capacity to record a movie in BluRay format.

What does redundant mean in Redundant Arrays of Independent Disks?

It means that there are more disks than are strictly needed to store the data at full capacity. The redundant disk space is used to keep copies of the data should one of the "independent" (or "inexpensive") disks fail. See other entries on redundancy.

How did floppy disks improve computing?

Floppy drive was the first storage with portable data storage capacity.. However the data storing capacity of floppy drive is not enough but in early days it helped a lot..

What are the advantages of zips?

Zip disks are considered obsolete these days, as all their advantages have been superseded by CD-RW and DVD-RW drives. Back when zip disks were common, they would have most likely been compared to floppy disks, over which their advantages were higher storage capacity and higher read/write speed.

What has the lowest storage capacity?

Is it really the ' DVD' ? I have something says it's the DVD. but it seems to me the 'Floopy disk', don't you think?

What is the difference between a Zip disk and a Floppy disk?

Yes, Zip discs are considerably larger than standard floppy disks. A standard floppy disc is 90mm × 94mm x 3mm. Zip discs are much wider longer and thicker at 97mm x 98.5mm x 6mm. This is because internally the platter of a Zip disk had a much higher spin speed and required space to spin free of any resistance.

What is a range of a storage capacity of a floppy disc?

Eight inch floppy disks held about 160 KB. Later popular 5-1/4 inch floppy disks initially held 360 KB, but later a 1.2 MB version was introduced. Finally hard cased 3-1/2" floppy disks came out, which held 1.4 MB.

How is a floppy disk useful?

Since higher storage and media devices have been released such as USB's and CD's, floppy disks have become outdated due to the maximum capacity that is now available to computers. In the 1990's floppy disks were very popular and widely used.

What are the advantage and limitation of optical disk optical disk?

Optical use a laser to read and write data .Optical disks have very large storage capacity but they are not fast as harddisk .There are major types of optical disk 1.CD-Rom 2 Worm 3.Eraser Advantage's optical disks has a very high storing capacity ,inexpensive has along life of at least 25 years .
