An offering is not required for any "Sacrament", the Priest may receive a gift, but it is not required. There is a set offering for an announced Mass stipend. ($15.00 in the Archdiocese of New York) for a Mass offered at a specified time, at a specified place, for one individual, living or deceased. The suggested offering for an "unannounced" Mass is $5.00. Such a Mass would be offered someplace, somewhere by any Priest, within a two year period of time. frptliny@Yahoo.com
