What creates drag?

What specifically creates drag is actually air. If you passed grade six or are still in it, then you should know this. Drag is made when there is high air pressure ( still air) and low air pressure ( moving air) believe it or not, but high air pressure is stronger than low air pressure. And when there is low air pressure , say the lady bug is flapping its wing, that creats low air pressure, then high air pressure always pushes the object ( in this case the ladybug) in to the low air pressure. That is how drag is created. I think. X) Like a boss

Why is induced drag aslo called lift drag?

Induced drag is the name given to the force of drag 'induced' by the act of increasing lift. Induced drag is directly related to how much lift the wing is producing, and usually angle of attack induced drag is usually caused by flow separations at high angles of attack and wing tip vortices, which is the main form of induced drag. Delta wings have massive induced drag because of their high chord which presents a high frontal area at high angles and leading edge vortices used to produce lift at low speed which generate lots of drag. At high speed and low angle however, the leading edge vortex no longer occurs and the wing has a very low frontal area which decreases the induced drag to almost nothing. Unlike other forms of drag, induced drag actually decreases with higher speed.

Can you give a sentence for the word coefficient?

Some vehicles have a low drag coefficient.

How does the shape of a plane's wing reduce drag?

A wing that is swept back reduces drag, but sacrifices stability at low speeds. Straight-winged aircraft produce the most drag, but are the most stable at low, landing speeds. The F-111 and F-14, with variable geometry wings, benefit from both aspects.

What are the 2 advantages of having a rocket with low air drag?

It flys better and is awesome

What is the aspect ratio of a high speed airplane?

Low! To minimize the drag which grow with the square of the speed.

Why are planes wings different shapes when looking from above?

Wings that are straight-edged are stable at low airspeeds. However, they produce a lot of drag and limit the airspeed. Wings that are swept back have less drag and are capable of greater speed, but they are unstable at low speed.

Are acuity longer distance low drag tees pga approved?

I could find no evidence that the Acuity longer distance low drag tees are approved for PGA use. The PGA website has a contact link where you can request thru email more information on this product.

What part is required when a low drag caliper setup is used?

A quick take-up master cylinder

Advantages and disadvantages of low wing configuration?

advantage :high lift to drag ratio disadvantage:difficulity in manover

What is the unit used to measure drag force?

(Low altitudes, normal temperatures / pressures, ordinary speeds.) > Drag due to moving through the air, depends on the velocity and the objects drag coefficient in the equation: > drag force (newtons) = velocity2 * drag coefficient > some (typical) drag coefficients: saloon car : 0.40 115 hp motorcycle ( with fairing) 0.23 person in freefall : 0.16

How is aerodynamics used in airplanes?

Everything on the outside of an aircraft is designed to be low drag and strong enough to cope with flight..
