A midget sub is one of the small subs used during WW2 by Japan. Each small sub was connected to a mothersub witch was 3X larger. These subs were used to get under the nets that the Americans set out to protect their harbors. Life in a midget sub was very hard. Two people lived in each sub. The cramped conditions in a 4x8 foot area were intense and brutal. The people in these subs did not get used to luxuries. 8 out of 12 of the men died in battle while 1 died of the conditions. Initially developed for military purposes during WWII, but now used for research and recreational purposes.
