It depends.

Middle Easterners, like Europeans, identify by nationality and by ethnicity. Unlike Europeans, they also identify by religion. However, in general, the inhabitants of the Middle East are considered to be "Arabs" even though many of them are not Arabs (such as Israelis, Turks, Persians, Kurds, Berbers, Circassians, and numerous others). This is the same as how Europeans in a general sense are considered White, even though there are numerous minorities living in Western Europe (such as Indians, Blacks, Asians et al.) who are not White, but still Europeans.

Middle Easterner.

However, there is no single word that would describe all inhabitants of the middle east in any better way. Most Middle Easterners are identified by national, ethnic, or religious affiliations, or by the general type of environment or region a group occupies.

The most populous group of Middle Easterners are the Arabs.
